“Strength Through Unity” is the motto from The Kingdom of Belgium. A founding member of the European Union and a country where two main linguistic groups, coexists.

It is also a phrase chosen as encapsulating the beliefs guiding La Kombo laboratory. And it recurs throughout Maïko’s lifestyle as a symbolic significance.

“Strength Through Unity” stands for the ideals of a better lifestyle by the alliance of two or more soul, made in order to advance common goals or just solidify life value.

The legend of a mother wolf nursing a child at La Louvière is reminiscent of the mythical birth of Rome.

The true origin of the city, however, dates from the 12th century. At that time, the forested, and presumably wolf-infested, territory of today’s La Louvière was named Menaulu, from the Old French meaning “wolf’s lair”.

This land was part of the larger community of Saint-Vaast, but La Louvière quickly surpassed its overlord, both in population and economic wealth. By 1284, the name of the territory had been translated into Latin, and then back into French to its current name of La Louvière, recognized as an independent city in 1869.

Humans historically have had a complex and varied viewpoint of wolves. In many parts of the world, wolves were feared and held in distaste, while in others they were respected and revered.

Wolves are typically timid around people, though how they react toward them generally depends on prior experiences rather than inherent behaviors. When they have sufficient habitat, food and are rarely hunted, wolves will usually try to avoid contact. However, there are several circumstances in which wolves have been recorded to act aggressively, including provocation, mistaken identity, being hunt and seasonal scarcity.

Still, compared to other carnivorous mammals known to attack, the frequency with which wolves have been recorded to kill is rather low. Unprovoked attacks by wolves are rare, indicating that though potentially dangerous, wolves have on occasion been kept as friendly companion, though not without difficulty.
